Hepione Therapeutics is a young startup led by an international group of scientists and business experts, many of whom have more than a decade of experience working with the VAST platform.
Nina Papavasiliou, Co-Founder. Head of Division of Immune Diversity, German Cancer Research Center. Expertise in immunology and parasitology. Awarded an NIH Transformative RO1 in 2011 for the initial development of the VAST platform.
Erec Stebbins, PhD, CEO and Co-Founder. Head of Division of Structural Biology of Infection and Immunity, German Cancer Research Center. Expertise in protein biochemistry, X-ray crystallography, and microbial pathogenesis.
Dr. Joey Verdi, CSO and Co-founder. With a PhD from the City University of New York, Dr. Verdi specializes in biochemistry and infection biology with a strong background in trypanosomiasis. He is the principle investigator for an NIH SBIR award Hepione Therapeutics Inc.
Dr. Sebastian Kruse, COO and Co-founder. Expert in immunotherapy and vaccine development, trained in business administration with experience as a consultant for pharma companies. PhD from the University of Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ).
